Privacy policy

The short version

If you send a quote request through a form on this site, we collect the details you type in so a local service provider can prepare a quote for you. We share your request with that provider — which may be a company we operate. We do not sell your information, and you can ask us to correct or delete it at any time.

Who is responsible

Home Services Calgary is responsible for personal information collected through homeservicescalgary.ca. Questions, requests and complaints about privacy go to contact@homeservicescalgary.ca. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What the quote form collects

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• The type of service you are asking about
• Your city or area
• Any details you write about your project

With each request we also record the page you sent it from, the time it was sent, and the fact that you ticked the consent box. Reading the guides on this site does not require you to give us any personal information.

Why we collect it

We use the information for one purpose: to connect you with a local service provider who can quote the work you described. That includes passing your request to the provider, letting the provider contact you about it, and keeping a record of the request so we can answer questions about it later.

Who we share it with

Your request is shared with a local provider of the service you selected. Home Services Calgary is part of a network that includes companies we operate, and the provider we pass your request to may be one of those companies. We will tell you who will be in touch. We share your request only for the purpose described above.

To run the form we also rely on service providers that process the information on our behalf: the company that hosts this website, the DunaHub customer relationship management (CRM) system where requests are recorded, and the email service that notifies the provider of a new request. These service providers may store or process information outside Alberta or outside Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of those places.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your consent

The quote form only sends once you tick a box agreeing that Home Services Calgary may share your request with a local service provider to prepare a quote. That box is never ticked for you. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing contact@homeservicescalgary.ca; we will stop sharing your request from that point, although a provider who has already received it may hold its own copy.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests only as long as we need them to handle the request and meet our legal obligations, and then delete them.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Email contact@homeservicescalgary.ca with your request and the email address you used on the form. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not currently set tracking cookies or run analytics. If that changes, this policy will be updated before it does.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at contact@homeservicescalgary.ca. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
